Froncysyllte C.P. School
The school was opened in September 1863 and was called The Froncysyllte British School. The first Headmaster from 1863 to 1865 was Mr E. Evans who had 90 pupils present at the end of the first week. By 1913 the school was overcrowded with 176 pupils plus 80 infants, making a total of 256 pupils. In 1914 the old Primitive Methodist Chapel was bought by the Education Authority as an extra classroom to provide room for the children.
Today, there are 47 full time pupils and 11 children in the Nursery. There has been considerable refurbishment over the years to the classroom areas, to help us make the school a comfortable and pleasant learning environment.
We have currently obtained School House and are looking ahead to remodelling the building to provide an extra classroom and office space.
The classrooms are attractively laid out and features include-
1. Practical teaching areas for art, craft, design and technology.
2. A school hall with apparatus for P.E, Drama, Music and Movement, school productions and school assemblies.
3. A well stocked library.
4. Desktop computers and laptop computers.
5. Attractive school gardens and woodland classroom.
6. A well attended and popular After School Kids' Club.
7. Provision for Early Years - 3 year olds can stay all day at our Hopscotch Nursery. Children can start our Early Years Nursery the term after their third birthday.
8. Outside facilities comprise of separate Infant and Junior Playgrounds and a large playing field.

Early Entitlement provision
The Welsh Assembly Government has funded an initiative, which entitles your child to attend an approved Early Education Entitlement setting in the term following your child's 3rd birthday. This is in addition to the existing LEA Nursery provision in schools in the September following a child's 3rd birthday.
That will mean that children born between 1st September and 31st December will be funded from January and those born between 1st January and 31st March will be funded for the Summer Term, and not have to wait until the following September.
The approved settings will provide a minimum of ten hours over four or five days.
What does it provide for your child?
Opportunities to have fun, play and learn by-
Discovering, investigating, exploring, experiencing, making friends, talking, sharing, using books, feeling secure and settled in the setting, establishing routines...
...in a safe, secure and stimulating environment with qualified staff providing a variety of activities and experiences in all areas of a child's learning and development.

After School Kids Club
Froncysyllte After School Club first opened its doors in December 1997, initially for one and a half hours. It was found that there was a demand for a longer session and therefore the Club sought Registration with Social Services, which it obtained in February 1998.
We are all very proud of our After School Club. Since opening, the club has grown in popularity and has children attending every evening. The Club is managed by Mrs Anita Jeffares and by a Management Committee (made up of Governors and the Headteacher).
The club is open Monday to Friday 3.15 -5.30pm with a snack and drink provided for each child.
The charges at the moment (October 2007) for the After School Club are-
£1.75 for one child (per hour)
£3.00 for two children (per hour)
£3.75 for three children (per hour)
We hope your child enjoys their time in our After School Club and we look forward to developing good relationships with both children and parents.
